Bienvenue sur la page d'accueil du cours de typographie numérique, donné à l'EPITA en première année du cycle Ingénieur.
This lecture is an introduction to the world of digital typesetting, that is, the art of putting (mostly) textual documents into shape. Our goal is to provide a very broad view of the discipline, from the scientific, technical, historical, and esthetics angles. In particular, we emphasize on the relations between the beauty and the readability of a document, the different typographical styles and usages, the tools allowing to compose in very high quality, and the underlying technical and algorithmic challenges.
