• April 25, 2013: Publication Efficient Multiscale Sauvola's Binarization accepted to the International Journal of Document Analysis and Recognition (IJDAR).
• April 3, 2013: New online demo : Staff Removal in Music Scores.
• March 28, 2013: New online demo : Historical Document Layout Analysis. Performs a layout analysis and classify each element found in the page.

2012

• November 12, 2012: Olena is now available as deb packages for Ubuntu.
• July 06, 2012: Olena is now available as deb packages for Debian testing.
• June 25, 2012: Olena is now available through MacPorts.
• May 16, 2012: New online demo : Context-Based Energy Estimator, Application To Object Segmentation On The Tree Of Shapes. Detect relevant objects on the tree of shapes by using a context-based energy estimator.

2011

• September 21, 2011: Olena's SCRIBO module won the 2nd place at Historical Document Layout Analysis Contest during ICDAR 2011.
• September 16, 2011: Olena 2.0 is released. It is the first version of the platform featuring the SCRIBO module for Document Image Analysis (DIA).
• June 1, 2011: Publication The SCRIBO Module of the Olena Platform: a Free Software Framework for Document Image Analysis accepted to the 11th International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition (ICDAR).
• May 13, 2011: Publication Une approche générique du logiciel pour le traitement d'images préservant les performances accepted to the 23rd Symposium on Signal and Image Processing (GRETSI).
• January 05, 2011: New online demo of page segmentation and reconstruction. Convert a document image to PDF and HTML.

• June 22, 2010: Two new online demos related to the Scribo project: a multi-scale binarization based on Sauvola's algorithm and a text detector in natural pictures.
• May 26, 2010: Publication Why and How to Design a Generic and Efficient Image Processing Framework: The Case of the Milena Library accepted to the 2010 International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP).
• May 11, 2010: Publication Writing Reusable Digital Geometry Algorithms in a Generic Image Processing Framework accepted to the Workshop on Applications of Digital Geometry and Mathematical Morphology (WADGMM).
• January 20, 2010: The Olena Project is on Ohloh.

2009

• November 20, 2009: The Olena Project switches to Git for source code management (SCM).
• October 26, 2009: A first version of a dynamic-static C++ bridge (with JIT C++ compilation) has been revived.
• September 9, 2009: Olena 1.0 is integrated into Mandriva Linux.
• July 14, 2009: Olena 1.0 is released.
• April 9, 2009: Publication Milena: Write Generic Morphological Algorithms Once, Run on Many Kinds of Images accepted to the 9th International Symposium on Mathematical Morphology (ISMM).
